The ultimate guide Minecraft Building in Creative
Introduction
Minecraft started in 2009 as a small indie game.
since then it has progressed into multi-billion dollar business,
but even after 15 years with millions of players, it still stays with the goal
of being a blocky 3d sandbox game with infinite possibilities.
So it shouldn't surprise you that creative building is one of the main aspects of Minecraft.
How to build (in creative)
Setup
To build in creative mode, start by:
1. creating a new world.
2. Set it to creative mode.
3. Click create new world.
- TIP: set the world type to superflat, as it is easier to build on flat terrain.
Outline
Now it's time to start placing blocks. But before you go all crazy finding the best
block palette in all of existence, start by just getting a few colours of wool or concrete.
This will help to create a good structure without worrying about what block goes where.
To actually build the structure:
1. Make a floor plan with basic 2d shapes like squares, circles, and rectangles.
2. Extend those blocks upward to about 3-5 blocks. It can be filled in
but it doesn't need to be if you want to save time.
Now your house should look like a bunch of cuboids and cylinders, (or any other 3d shapes).
Colouring
Okay, you have your structure, now comes the fun part of adding different blocks,
here are some steps that you can take to achieve a good looking house:
1. Start with base blocks, like stone, wooden planks etc...
2. Then add texture by randomly adding other similar looking blocks.
3. Do this for all the sides of the house.
- TIP: Don't choose your blocks based on material,
Minecraft doesn't have realistic physics (yet). Rather choose your blocks based on the general color.
For example, dead coral blocks actually look pretty good with stone,
even though that doesn't make sense in real life.
Conclusion
Well done, you have learned pretty much all the basics of professional minecraft building.
Of course there is much more to explore,
but my goal is to give only the info you need to know to get started.
Most importantly, Practice and have fun.
